This app combines highly accurate weather forecasts for your location with 3D maps that show weather developments over a wider area in a very interesting way. This allows you to see where rainfall is coming from or where the wind is blowing. The uniqueness of the application comes from the amount of data displayed. Weather forecasts, precipitation, wind, cloud cover, atmospheric pressure, snow cover and other meteorological data for various altitudes are available for the whole world. Additionally, the app is completely free of ads.
WIND ANIMATIONS
The Ventusky app solves the weather display in an interesting way. Wind is displayed using currents that clearly illustrate the continuous development of weather. Air flows on Earth are always in motion and currents describe this movement in amazing ways. This makes the interconnection of all atmospheric phenomena clear.
WEATHER FORECAST
The weather forecast for the first three days is available in the app in one hour steps. For other days, it is available in three-hour steps. Users can also search for sunrise and sunrise times at a particular place.
WEATHER MODELS
Thanks to the Ventusky app, visitors get live data from numerical models that, a few years ago, were only used by meteorologists. This application collects data from the most accurate numerical models. In addition to the well-known data from the American GFS and HRRR models, it also displays data from the Canadian GEM model and the German ICON model, which are unique thanks to their high resolution for the whole world. Two models, EURAD and USRAD, are based on current radar and satellite readings. These models are able to pinpoint current rainfall in the US and Europe.
WEATHER FRONTS
You can also display weather fronts. We have created a neural network that predicts the positions of cold, warm, closed and stationary fronts based on data from weather models. This algorithm is unique, and we are the first in the world to provide global frontline forecasts to users.
